Cash-in-Lieu

If you are already insured medically through another source, you are eligible to receive a Cash-in-Lieu benefit.  Please read on for the details of qualifications and how to apply. 

If you chose to decline the medical, dental or vision plans offered by DSEHP, you may be eligible to receive Cash-in-lieu of coverage.  In order to receive the credit, you must meet the criteria  below.  By electing the Cash-in-Lieu option, you are acknowledging that you understand you will only be allowed to change your election during the next open enrollment period or during a qualified event.

The Cash-in-Lieu credit amounts for each type of coverage (Medical, Dental and Vision) are below.  These credits are ONLY paid out if you are a benefit eligible employee with an FTE of 0.65 or greater, as defined by the District, for the current school year and you elect Cash-in-Lieu of these coverages.

The Medical Cash-in-Lieu credit is $1,920 per year (or $160 per month), and is paid each qualifying payroll, ONLY if you provide proof of an ACA-approved medical coverage through another source.

NOTE: You MUST provide proof of other coverage in order to receive the medical Cash-in-Lieu credit to PlanSource within 30 days from the day you complete enrollment.  Documentation can be submitted by logging in and uploading to your profile in PlanSource at https://benefits.plansource.com/

You will NOT receive the opt-out medical credit until documentation is received and approved by the PlanSource.
