It allows all of us to work together through the Healthcare Committee to obtain the best quality healthcare at the most affordable rates. This would not be possible without the support of the Taylor School District, and we thank them for working together for a solution that has been beneficial to all.
The Taylor Healthcare Committee has contracted with the DSEHP, K&M Accounting, Gallagher and PlanSource to obtain insurance quotes and complete all record keeping requirements.
VEBA is an acronym for Voluntary Employee Benefit Association (VEBA) and is a 501c tax exempt corporation. It is important to note that the DSEHP-VEBA is the ONLY Public School District VEBA completely run by the unions in the district. Without these strong unions, this would not be possible.
The HCC and DSEHP are only possible if our Unions maintain a strong membership and complete necessary negotiations with the Taylor School District. The HCC and DSEHP must continue to be interest-based so that all involved have the best interests of TSD employees and their families as the top priority. A decrease in Union membership could put the DSEHP in danger of dissolving.
DSEHP VEBA is the name of the company. The DSEHP, Union-owned and operated, was formed to handle your benefits, such as, medical, dental, vision and voluntary products. The Unions knew they would need to negotiate with insurance companies on behalf of their members and could better do so as a large group/VEBA.
The Healthcare Committee consists of each of the Presidents of the four unions within Taylor Public Schools: the Taylor Federation of Teachers (TFT), Taylor Schools Support Staff Association (26M TSSSA), Taylor Principals Association (TPA), and the Taylor Association of Central Staff Administrators (TACSA), as well as their alternates, K&M Facilitators and DSEHP Support Staff.

The Wellness Committee is a voluntary subcommittee of the DSEHP VEBA formed to help provide information, services, and resources to members related to physical, financial, social/emotional, community, and career wellness.
